[tracker2] not holding program??

Ok so I am probably doing something wrong, I have looked through the manual and I am out of ideas.

When I am using the ot3m for either an Igate or a digi it seems to work great, for a few minutes then it seems to forget what its supposed to be doing. So I reopen the configuration and my call is and a few of the setting are there, but some of the settings have changed.

Like the serial port baud rate has changed and the mode has changed back to auto ( it was set on kiss) I also check the "USB KISS" and that will usually be unchecked when I reopen the config.

Also when I run it as a digi it will kind of do the same thing where it will digi most packets coming in including my own but then all of a sudden forget what it is supposed to do. I have been testing this with my own rig at home, in the first few minutes after exiting the config my rig will send a packet and ill get the response back to the rig saying it was digied then the next few times it won't, I have my rig sent to transmit every 5 min. Then when I go into the config and look at the settings everything looks the same as I left it and when I close it the same symptoms happen works for a while then quits.

When is the config file opened is the current configuration pulled from the ot3m?

I am no expert on this type of stuff but I am trying to learn like I said I am sure it is user error but I don't know what I am doing wrong.

Thanks for any help!

Thanks
Ben

Hi Ben,

The config program always pulls the current configuration from the
tracker.  The main thing you need to watch out for is the KISS exit
command sequence.  Many KISS-capable programs will send an 'exit'
command when they close or if they reset the TNC connection.  The
tracker will revert to AUTO mode on that port, and most programs don't
have the proper command script to put the tracker back into KISS mode.

Most host programs can be configured not to send the exit command. You
can either do that, set it up to send the correct commands at startup to
put it back into KISS mode, or you can set up a startup script that
always puts the tracker into KISS mode.

Ok so I am probably doing something wrong, I have looked through the
manual and I am out of ideas.
When I am using the ot3m for either an Igate or a digi it seems to
work great,  for a few minutes then it seems to forget what its
supposed to be doing. So I reopen the configuration and my call is and
a few of the setting are there, but some of the settings have changed.
Like the serial port baud rate has changed and the mode has changed
back to auto ( it was set on kiss) I also check the "USB KISS" and
that will usually be unchecked when I reopen the config.
Also when I run it as a digi it will kind of do the same thing where
it will digi most packets coming in including my own but then all of a
sudden forget what it is supposed to do. I have been testing this with
my own rig at home, in the first few minutes after exiting the con fig
my rig will send a packet and ill get the response back to the rig
saying it was digied then the next few times it won't, I have my rig
sent to transmit every 5 min. Then when I go into the config and look
at the settings everything looks the same as I left it and when I
close it the same symptoms happen works for a while then quits.
When is the config file opened is the current configuration pulled from the ot3m?
I am no expert on this type of stuff but I am trying to learn like I
said I am sure it is user error but I don't know what I am doing wrong.
Thanks for any help!
Thanks
